Citizens Fire Academy (CFA) is an eight-week program (10 classes) that gives residents an opportunity to learn about about Allen Fire Department's structure and operations. CFA takes place each spring.

Spring 2022 enrollment
Spring registration opens on Jan. 31. The course takes place Thursday evenings from March 17 to May 5 and includes two Saturday morning activities (April 9 and April 23). Enrollment is limited to first 20 applicants. A mandatory background check is performed all applications.

Demonstrations of emergency operations
Fire and life safety training
Optional: Ride along with on-duty firefighters on emergency calls
While the CFA program offers in-depth understanding of the department, the program is not to be confused with a fire service training academy for future career firefighters.
